Speaker spotlight: Wendy Laura Belcher to speak at TAA’s 2017 Textbook & Academic Authoring Conference
Wendy Laura Belcher, an Associate Professor at Princeton University and author of the best-selling book, Writing Your Journal Article in 12 Weeks: A Guide to Academic Writing Success, will be a featured speaker at TAA’s 30th Annual Textbook & Academic Authoring Conference in Providence, Rhode Island, June 9-10, 2017.
Belcher’s session, “Writing a Journal Article in 12 Weeks: Inspiration, Concepts, and Success,” will highlight key strategies for being a productive academic author and provide insight and inspiration for you as authors, educators, and writing mentors. She will share her inspirations for writing and concepts featured in her best-selling book, including her 12-week writing process, a revolutionary approach to enabling academic authors to overcome their anxieties and produce the publications that are essential to succeeding in their fields, which has helped tens of thousands of academics around the world to get published.
Belcher is an award-winning author, academic editor, international lecturer, and professor. She designed one of the first publication focused writing courses for junior faculty and graduate students in the nation, and for ten years has conducted such courses at the University of California, Los Angeles, and in research institutions around the world, including those in Norway, Malawi, Sudan, and Egypt.
TAA has an outstanding program planned for its June conference, with the speaker panel including veteran authors, authoring attorneys, and publishing industry experts presenting more than 30 sessions focusing on writing strategies and productivity, copyright and royalty issues, eBook and technology trends, open access and other exciting and challenging trends in academic publishing.
