TAA Council election results announced

Robert Christopherson has been reelected, and Laura Frost has been elected to the TAA Council. Both will be serving three-year terms beginning July 1, 2014.

A long-time TAA member, Christopherson is the author of Geosystems, the leading physical geography textbooks in the United States and Canada. He was a Professor of Geography at American River College for 30 years, where he received many teaching awards. In addition, in 2012 he was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from California State University, Chico. Christopherson has been an active member of the TAA Council for many years, regularly presents at TAA’s Annual Conference, and received the TAA President’s award in 2012 in “Appreciation for Services to TAA”.

A veteran author, Frost is a Professor of Chemistry at Florida Gulf Coast University and Director of the Whitaker Center for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Education. She is the lead author on the textbook, General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry, now in 2nd edition (Pearson); has published over 50 guided-inquiry activities that parallel the textbook material; and is a contributing author to the 5th edition of General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry: Structures of Life by Timberlake. In 2007, she was honored with the Regent’s Award for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning by the University System of Georgia and was inducted into the Regent’s Hall of Fame for Teaching Excellence. Frost has been a member of TAA since 2009.
