2015 TAA Council election results announced

Mike Kennamer has been elected Vice President/President-Elect, Mark Lerner has been elected for a second term as Treasurer, and Claudia Sanchez has been elected Secretary. Robert Christopherson has been reelected, and Laura Frost has been elected to the TAA Council. Both will be serving three-year terms beginning July 1, 2014.

A long-time TAA member, Christopherson is the author of Geosystems, the leading physical geography textbooks in the United States and Canada. He was a Professor of Geography at American River College for 30 years, where he received many teaching awards. In addition, in 2012 he was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from California State University, Chico. Christopherson has been an active member of the TAA Council for many years, regularly presents at TAA’s Annual Conference, and received the TAA President’s award in 2012 in “Appreciation for Services to TAA”. Call for nominations to TAA Council

TAA announces a call for nominations for two open TAA Council positions. The term for each Council position is three years, with terms starting July 1, 2014. Council members are required to attend two meetings per year, one in January in St. Petersburg, Florida, and one the day prior to the association’s annual conference, held traditionally in June. Most travel and lodging expenses related to attending these meetings is reimbursed. Any member of TAA is eligible to serve on the TAA Council.
