Member Spotlight: Pamela Gordon
TAA Member Pamela Gordon is lecturer at Norwalk Community College teaching classes in art appreciation and humanities and a textbook author in the art discipline. Her latest publication is Art Matters: A Contemporary Approach to Art Appreciation (Oxford University Press, 2020).
She is currently working on the second edition of Art Matters.
Share a recent accomplishment.
Oxford recently published a couple of new digital learning supplements that I wrote, including Museums and Beyond: Guided Activities for Engaging with Art, which gives students tools they need to encounter art outside of the classroom, and an Insight Study Guide, which helps students review concepts and engage actively with art.
What is your favorite textbook writing tip or strategy?
My favorite strategy is to listen to my students, other faculty, and my publisher. I am indebted to those who have suggested wonderful ideas that have strengthened my text.
What is your best TAA experience so far?
TAA offers incredibly informative webinars.
