Call for Proposals: TAA’s 30th Annual Textbook & Academic Authoring Conference
TAA’s 30th Annual Textbook & Academic Authoring Conference will be held at the Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel, Providence, RI, June 9-10, 2017. A highly interactive event, the conference will be attended by authors and aspiring authors of textbooks, journal articles, and other academic works, as well as by industry professionals from across the country.
TAA invites the submission of presentations relevant to authoring and publishing textbooks and academic works (journal articles, academic books, and monographs).
Topics of interest include:
- Writing and publishing tips and strategies
- eBooks and digital publishing
- Innovative pedagogical technology
- Marketing and social media for academics
- Publishing contracts
- Royalties
- Editing
- Indexing
- Trends in self-publishing
- Open access developments
- Copyright
Session proposals can be submitted for the following formats:
Traditional Presentation: 60-minute session featuring one speaker; approximately a 40-50 minute presentation with time for audience Q&A.
Panel Session: 60 or 90-minute session with multiple presenters; allow for 10-15 minutes of audience Q&A.
Roundtable Presentation: 60-minute small-group discussion moderated by the roundtable presenter and focusing on one authoring or publishing topic.
Please submit your proposal by October 6, 2016. The 2017 TAA Conference Committee will review all proposals and notify you of the status of your submission by November 17, 2016.
