What does that vision look like for your individual writing goals on textbook and academic projects? What does that look like for the publishing industry at large? How can you plan now to accomplish those goals in the coming days, months, and years?

This week’s collection of articles begins with a look back on 2019, looks at the difference between free and OER when discussing textbooks, offers suggestion on how to select the right planning and project management tools, and considers the abolition of academic prizes. 2015 TAA textbook award winners announced

McGuffey Longevity AwardThe Text and Academic Authors Association has announced its 2015 textbook award winners. Thirteen awards were given in three different award categories. One textbook was awarded a 2015 William Holmes McGuffey Longevity Award (“McGuffey”), seven textbooks were awarded 2015 Textbook Excellence Awards (“Texty”), and five textbooks were awarded 2015 Most Promising New Textbook Awards. Deadline for nominations for TAA Council of Fellows and Ron Pynn Award is Jan. 15

Council of FellowsTAA is seeking nominations for its prestigious TAA Council of Fellows and Ron Pynn Award. Any TAA member may nominate him or herself or another TAA member. The recipients will be selected by the TAA Council via ballot and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony luncheon at TAA’s 2015 Conference on June 20, 2015. The deadline for nominations for both awards is January 15, 2015.

The TAA Council of Fellows honors distinguished authors who have a long record of successful publishing. Any author whose textbook or other instructional materials have established his/her presence in the market place over time or who has been innovative in the presentation of material, is qualified for nomination into the TAA Council of Fellows.
