Member Spotlight: Laura Jacobi

TAA member Laura Jacobi is an Assistant Professor & Basic Course Director in Communication Studies Department at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and an academic author in the curriculum & instruction discipline.

She most recently published “The structure of discussions in an online communication course: What do students find most effective?” in The Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice, 14(1) (2017) and is working on a publication coming out in July 2018 titled, “What motivates students in the online communication classroom? An exploration of Self-Determination Theory” to be published in Journal of Educators Online, 15(2). In addition to two publications coming out–one in March and one in July 2018, she has a book chapter in press, and published three other articles in scholarly journals in the last two years. Prior to the fall of 2015, she was working as teaching faculty and not actively conducting research.

Member Spotlight: Courtland L. Bovee

TAA member Courtland L. Bovee is a full time textbook author of four business textbooks, co-authored with John Thill and published by Pearson.

His most recent publication is Business Communication Essentials, 8th Edition and he is currently co-authoring three more titles Business Communication Today, 14th Edition, Excellence in Business Communication, 13th Edition, and Business in Action, 8th Edition.

Member Spotlight: Susan M. Ford

TAA member Susan M. Ford is a Professor Emeritus with the Tacoma Community College Nursing Program and a textbook author in the nursing discipline.

She recently published the 11th edition of Roach’s Introductory Clinical Pharmacology as the sole author. It just hit the shelves in October 2017. She writes about pharmacology in the context of nursing practice – which has led her to contribute to two other textbooks and a number of online modules to compliment a 3rd nursing textbook. She is also a reviewer for a number of nursing textbooks.

Member Spotlight: Andrew M. Pomerantz

TAA member Andrew M. Pomerantz is a Professor of Psychology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and both a textbook and academic author in the psychology discipline.

He recently published two textbooks: the brand new My Psychology (published by Worth, for Introductory Psychology courses) and Clinical Psychology (4th edition, published by SAGE). He has also published dozens of articles in peer-reviewed journals.
