TAA member Joan M. Saslow is an independent author concentrating entirely on authorship of English language teaching materials.

Her most recent publication is Summit: English for Today’s World, coauthored with Allen Ascher and published by Pearson, now in third edition. She’s also published the Top Notch series (coauthored with Allen Ascher) now in its third edition, and the following titles, all of which are multi-level series with multimedia: Teen2Teen (4-level series with Allen Ascher, Oxford University Press) Ready to Go: Language Lifeskills, Civics (4-level series, Pearson) Workplace Plus: Living and Working in English (4-level series, Pearson) Literacy Plus (2-level series, Pearson), and English in Context: Reading Comprehension for Science and Technology (3-level series, Prentice-Hall).

TAA member Victor P. Maiorana is both a textbook and academic author in the disciplines of curriculum & instruction, education, linguistics, literacy, and college textbook psychology. 

He has written three textbooks published in the last three years, all by Rowman & Littlefield, including Teach like the mind learns: Instruct so students learn to think, read, and write critically (2017), Preparation for critical instruction: How to explain subject matter while teaching all learners to think, read, and write critically (2016) and Fixing instruction – Resolving major issues with a core body of knowledge for critical instruction (2015).

TAA member Dr. Olga Zbarskaya, OZCREDO President, is both a textbook and academic author. Her most recent publications include Brainstorm!: Practice for Unrestricted Imagination and Original Thought and Mind Booster Art.

What are you currently working on?
I just finished the children’s book/textbook on creative thinking Unbelievable Adventures of Dr. Credo. Parents and educators alike will appreciate this book for the way it creates a fun learning experience involving technology, astrology, physics, and even psychology, making it an ideal complement to many school lessons and a great addition to classroom libraries. I also founded OZCREDO: Center for Creative Thinking and Unlimited Possibilities, a consulting company that provides comprehensive tools, training, workshops, and coaching on creative decision-making and problem solving.

TAA member Takiyah N. Amin is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Africana Studies at Davidson College. An academic author in the dance studies discipline, her most recent publications include an Article: “Arts in Society Redesign: A Learner-Centered Approach”, by Delane Ingalls Vanada, Dean Adams and Takiyah Amin, published by The International Journal of Arts Education; and a Book Chapter: “African American Dance Revisited: Undoing Master Narratives in the Studying and Teaching of Dance History” in Rethinking Dance History: Issues and Methodologies (Routledge.)

What are you currently working on?
Completing a book project that explores the work of Black women choreographers during the height of the US-based Black Power and Black Arts Movements.

TAA member Jose A. Carmona is a Spanish Instructor at Pasco-Hernando State College and Latin American Culture Instructor at Columbia College. As both a textbook and academic author in ESL, education, global studies, and Spanish, his most recent publication is Globalizing the Curriculum with the Latino Literature of the United States.
