TAA Signs Appeal to Governing Bodies to Uphold Protections, Overturn Exemptions Regarding Generative AI
TAA believes corrective action needs to be taken by the European Union and the United States Government to protect the financial and creative interests of authors. Along with 23 other creative and authoring organizations, TAA has signed an appeal to governing bodies to uphold protections outlined in the Berne Convention and overturn exemptions that allow AI technologies to reuse copyrighted materials without credit or compensation given to authors.

TAA offers two forms of grants to assist U.S. authors with some of the expenses related to publishing their academic works and textbooks: Publication Grants and Textbook or Academic Contract Review Grants. Both are open to members and non-members. The next grant application deadline is October 1. Grants will be awarded by October 31.

First, you may be asking, “What is a writing model?” A writing model is an example of writing like the one you need to produce.
Allow me to illustrate. Very early in my graduate program, I had never read a dissertation. But I knew I needed to write one. The best advice I received was to familiarize myself with the structure of a finished dissertation. I found dissertations that students in my own program had successfully written and defended under the guidance of my advisor.
