TAA announces call for proposals for 28th annual conference

2015 TAA Conference LogoThe Text and Academic Authors Association is pleased to announce a call for proposals for its 28th Annual Textbook & Academic Authoring Conference, which will be held at the Westin Las Vegas Hotel, Casino & Spa, in Las Vegas, NV, June 19-20, 2015. A highly interactive event, the conference is attended by authors of textbooks, journal articles, and other academic works, as well as by industry professionals from across the country.

TAA invites the submission of presentations relevant to authoring and publishing textbooks and academic works (monographs, journal articles, reports). Click here for more information and to access the online proposal submission form.

Session topics of interest include:

• Tips and strategies for authoring and publishing
• Self-publishing
• eBooks and digital publishing
• Innovative pedagogical technology
• Marketing and social media for academics
• Developments in publishing contracts and royalties

Proposals directed at the conference theme, “Textbook & Academic Authoring in the Digital Age”, will be considered a priority.

Session proposals can be submitted for the following formats:

Traditional Presentation: 60-minute session featuring one speaker; approximately a 40-50 minute presentation with time for audience Q&A.

Panel Session: 60 or 90-minute session with multiple presenters providing 15-minute presentations.

Roundtable Presentation: 60-minute small-group discussion moderated by the roundtable presenter and focusing on one authoring or publishing topic.

The deadline for submissions is October 6, 2014. The 2015 TAA Conference Committee will review all proposals and notify applicants of the status of their submission by November 17, 2014.
